The Cheadle College

Starting life as a girls’ grammar school in the 1950s, the current college site has been through various incarnations including the Manor County Secondary School, Margaret Danyers FE College and as part of Ridge Danyers Further Education College.

Most recently it was part of the Cheadle and Marple 6th Form College, but in 2014 it became The Cheadle College for the first time.

The Cheadle College is a popular college with over 800 students drawn from across Stockport, South Manchester and North Cheshire.

The campus is surrounded by playing fields and parkland while the college buildings – which house the teaching areas, science labs, performing arts theatre space, Learning Resource Centre and Library, ICT centre and other facilities – are all linked to a spacious and attractive central outdoor courtyard. In addition students can enjoy access to a new £1.2m facility called The Hub – a space for relaxation, socialising and study that offers free Wi-Fi access.

The Cheadle College has extensive and secure car-parking for students, and plenty of bike racks available for student use. It is also easily accessible by public transport including bus and train.

All the main college faculties and amenities can be accessed by wheelchair.

The Cheadle College offers over 25 courses in both academic and vocational disciplines and also features a Sports Academy and a Careers Academy
